Why use Compact Florescent Lighting?

Compact florescent lamps are the most common of the energy efficient lighting solutions offered by Caltex Efficient Energy.  The technology for the CFL was introduced in the 80’s, but has come a long way to become the most popular and cost efficient lamp used today.  These new lamps are endorsed by Energy Star and are being used to replace the older, less efficient incandescent lighting.  Lower electric bills, less maintenance, and reduced CO2 emissions are just a few of the reasons to switch from incandescent to the new CFL’s.

The Difference - Technology
The key difference between Fluorescents and Incandescents is how they "create" light.

Fluorescent bulbs outlast up to 13 incandescent or halogen bulbs.

The Difference - Cost
Check the Facts! A compact fluorescent may cost more to purchase than an incandescent, but that's where the story ends.

Compacts can typically save 8 to 12 times their cost.

Temperature
90% of the energy consumed by an incandescent bulb is wasted heat. This makes the bulb extremely hot to touch and very unsafe.
